IATELS Business Innovation Forum (IBIF): Vision, Mission, and Charter

Vision Statement

To be the preeminent global ecosystem where vetted business leaders collaborate with academic pioneers to transform research-validated foresight into measurable global business advantage.

Mission Statement

The Mission of the IBIF is to accelerate sustainable global growth for its members by:

1. Bridging the Strategy Gap: Providing exclusive access to research-validated intelligence and applied strategic frameworks from top academic minds.

2. Curating Opportunity: Facilitating high-trust, pre-qualified B2B connections among decision-makers to minimize risk and maximize partnership velocity.

3. Championing Integrity: Upholding the highest standards of professional conduct, confidentiality, and mutual respect in all collaborations.

IBIF Policies, Regulations, and Rules on Joining and Participation

The rules below are designed to reinforce exclusivity, protect the integrity of the network, and ensure a high return on time investment for all members.

1. Membership Eligibility and Vetting Policy

A. Executive Requirement (The “Decision-Maker” Rule): Membership is strictly reserved for Business Owners, C-Suite Executives (CEO, COO, CFO, CMO), Vice Presidents of Global Strategy, or Heads of R&D/Innovation who hold final decision-making authority within their organization.

B. Application and Vetting:

Application: Prospective members must submit a detailed application outlining their current executive role, company profile, and specific international business goals they aim to achieve through IBIF.

Vetting: All applications undergo a confidential review by the IBIF Charter Committee to verify executive status and corporate credibility. This process may include professional background checks and/or reference calls.

Sponsorship: While not mandatory, applications accompanied by a referral from an existing IBIF member or a senior IATELS affiliate will be prioritized.

C. No Representation: Membership is non-transferable. Only the designated executive is authorized to attend IBIF events and access the digital platform. Junior staff may not attend in the executive’s place unless explicitly approved by the Charter Committee for a specific, project-based reason.

2. Participation and Conduct Regulations

A. Confidentiality and Trust:

  1. Non-Disclosure: All non-public information, strategic discussions, and partner details shared within IBIF meetings, forums, or events are considered confidential. Members must adhere to a strict policy of non-disclosure regarding the private affairs of fellow members.
  2. The “No Pitch” Rule: The IBIF is a forum for strategic collaboration and insight, not direct sales solicitation. Unsolicited, generic sales pitches to fellow members are strictly prohibited. Engagement must begin with strategic value and mutual interest, respecting the relationship first.

B. Engagement Mandate:

  1. Active Input: Members are expected to contribute actively to discussions, not just passively consume content. This ensures the continuous generation of high-quality insights for the entire network.
  2. Attendance: Consistent non-participation (e.g., missing three consecutive Quarterly Strategy Briefings without notice) may trigger a review of membership status to ensure the network remains active and vital.

3. Fee Structure and Membership Termination Policy

A. Annual Fee and Value: Membership requires an annual fee, reflecting the premium quality of the curated network, research intelligence, and bespoke matchmaking services. The fee structure is non-negotiable and payable upon acceptance.

B. Termination for Cause: The IBIF Charter Committee reserves the right to immediately and confidentially terminate the membership of any individual who violates the “No Pitch” rule, breaches confidentiality, or whose actions are deemed detrimental to the high-trust environment of the Forum.

C. Renewal: Membership renewal is based on both the timely payment of the annual fee and an affirmative review of the member’s engagement and adherence to the IBIF Charter.

This framework is aimed to establish the IBIF as a highly selective environment where trust, integrity, and actionable results are paramount, directly appealing to the needs of busy decision-makers.
